Commitment with the Environment

In this last section we would like to highlight our concern for the environment and how from our position we always try to respect and care for the world around us.
These are our principles regarding our commitment with the Environment:

  • Sustainable architecture.
  • Use of green building materials.
  • We recycle the paper we use.
  • No document printing, viewing on computer screen instead.
  • The use of recycled materials when available.
  • The use of large windows allow us to use natural light for long hours at work.
  • The air conditioning systems are VRV type.
  • The location in a small town, embedded in a large area of low occupancy population and industrial companies.
  • Working hours are concentrated in daylight hours.
  • We encourage the family life through teleworking.
  • Any dealings with municipal administrations are carried out by going on foot or by public transport.
  • We use recycled paper.
  • The printing inks are made of soy that come in recycled packaging.
  • Our cleaning services use environmentally friendly products.
  • The devices used are certified Energy “Energy Star”.
  • Minimize the E-Waste or waste generated by electrical appliances when life ends, and so on.

We work in our projects with environmental organizations when we deal with listed buildings,we try to get our results from the point of view of conservation of species and from the conservation of buildings. This way, we have achieved kestrel nests on listed buildings and placement of stork nests on churches’ roofs.

We have ongoing cooperation with the Department of Environment at the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid.

Our WEB adheres to the concept Blackle:

Blackle was created by Heap Media to remind us to make small changes to achieve energy savings in our daily lives. Blackle searches are powered by Google Custom search.Blackle saves energy because the screen is black by default. ”Image displayed is primarily a function of the color settings and desktop graphics, as well as color and size when you open Windows applications, some monitors require more power to display a white (or light) that a screen black (or dark). “ Roberson et al, 2002.

Elgueta Architects, architecture firm located in Guadalajara-Spain-Uceda, like millions of people responsible, has taken a step forward to save energy.
